Avatar Try-On privacy policy
Last updated:
Avatar Try-On is a Chrome extension. It shows how a t-shirt from the shop page you have open fits a 3D avatar that it builds from your measurements.
What the extension stores
- Your body measurements and sex, which you type into the panel.
- Up to three face photos (front, left and right), if you choose to take them. The extension uses them to shape and colour the avatar's head and hair.
The extension keeps this data in chrome.storage.local, which is storage on your own computer. It does not send the data to the developer or to anyone else. The developer cannot see it.
What the extension reads
When you press Read page, the extension reads the product page in the open tab: the product name, the colour, the material and the size chart. On some shops it also asks that shop's own website for the size chart, in the same way as the page does when you open the size guide. The extension uses this only to dress the avatar. It does not keep it after you close the panel.
What the extension does not do
- It does not send your measurements, photos or browsing to any server.
- It has no analytics, no tracking and no ads.
- It does not sell or share data.
- It does not read pages until you press Read page.
Site access
The first time you press Read page on a shop, Chrome asks you to let the extension read websites. If you choose Allow, the extension reads a page only when you press Read page, or when you change the colour or size on a page it already read. You can remove this access at any time in chrome://extensions, in the extension's details.
Deleting your data
- To delete your photos, press Remove photos in the panel.
- To delete all data, remove the extension from Chrome. Chrome then deletes its storage.
